Annie Pootoogook (1969-2016)

Annie Pootoogook was an Inuk artist who drew and depicted scenes from her own life. Her body was found in Ottawa's Rideau River in 2016. Her death was treated as suspicious yet the investigation was inconclusive. Annie Pootoogook joined the long list of Missing and Murdered Aboriginal Women in Canada.
